Synopsis

Maanav (Ayushmann Khurrana) is a popular actor, known as a leading man in action films. For his upcoming film shoot, he heads to Mandothi in Haryana. Vicky Solanki, an aspiring strongman politician, who is currently contesting the local elections, wants to meet Maanav in order to gain publicity. Maanav does not pay heed, however, because of his busy shooting schedule. Just when he is about to meet Vicky, he is distracted by the delivery of his new Ford Mustang and goes for a long drive. However, an enraged Vicky follows and manhandles him. Maanav gets enraged, and pushes Vicky, who lands on a stone and dies from blunt force trauma, on the spot.

Frightened, Maanav escapes from the village, flies by charter flight to Mumbai. He doesn't exit the airport and straightaway takes an international flight to London. Upon arrival, he is met by his attorney, arranged by his manager Roshan, & flees to his house in Portsmouth, UK. The attorney and Roshan say that they have arranged a proxy to pin the crime on, and Maanav just has to say that they Proxy was driving his car that night. Maanav learns that the villagers set fire to his car that very night.

He does not realize that Vicky's brother, Bhoora Singh Solanki (Jaideep Ahlawat), a municipal councilor of Mandothi, has also reached the UK to hunt him down. His Mustang's side mirror is found in the crime scene, in Haryana, and the police soon conclude Maanav's role in Vicky's murder. Maanav's reputation is degraded, and his films are boycotted. The news reaches UK, as well, and Maanav is forced to hide himself from the UK police. While returning from the market, Maanav finds Bhoora at his house, who proceeds to shoot and kill two British officers.

Maanav manages to escape the scene and tries to seek help from his UK lawyer, who does not respond. He takes a local's car and drives away from the town. As the gas runs out in the car, Maanav parks it at a rest area, to relax. Bhoora, who was able to follow him, confronts Maanav. He tries to prove his innocence, but Bhoora does not listen and tries to kill him. Maanav manages to not only overpower him, but also escape by locking him up in the car's trunk. Upon pressuring his manager, Roshan (Harsh Chhaya), for help, Maanav finally gets to meet another lawyer and fixer, Sai (Neeraj Madhav), for capturing potential footage of Bhoora killing the two cops. Sai tells Maanav to meet his contact in London, for collecting the footage.

Sai & Maanav travel to Sai's house for the night. On the way they pass the location where Manav had locked Bhoora. Maanav finds the boot open, and they both don't realize that Bhoora got into the back of Sai's pick-up truck.

However, Bhoora, who was able to call a towing company for help and got out, arrives and kills Sai too. Maanav and Bhoora get into a fist fight. When Bhoora tries to kill Maanav, he is intercepted by Kaadir, Sai's friend, whom he had invited for dinner. Maanav and Bhoora together overpowers Kaadir (as Maanav didn't know Kaadir and didn't trust him), but Maanav gets in the car and flees again leaving Bhoora behind. Kaadir orders his men to pursue Maanav.

Bhoora learns from Kaadir that Maanav will be captured and taken to a specific location in London, and goes in Kaadir's car, holding Kaadir hostage as the driver. Meanwhile, Maanav is attacked by Kaadir's men on a ferry and fights them off. Maanav gets fed up with hiding and surrenders himself to the police with the footage that Sai's contact procured from the dash-cams of the cars nearby Maanav's house in Portsmouth. After escaping from the ferry, Maanav travels to Chinatown to collect the footage and then to a nearby police station.

Masood Abraham Katkar (Gautam Joglekar), a feared terrorist from the D-Company, who was taunted by Maanav as irrelevant, abducts him through his men just before the police are able to pick him up from in front of the station, where Maanav was surrendering himself (Turns out Kaadir was working for Katkar and had bribed Sai to hand over Maanav to Katkar, since Maanav had dared Katkar on live TV and he wanted revenge). He is taken to a rooftop, where Katkar is awaiting him.

Katkar takes a photograph with Maanav, seemingly planning on sending it to the media, to paint a picture that Maanav has contacts in the underworld. Katkar tells Maanav to perform at his grand-daughter's wedding, in exchange for his freedom. After following Maanav using a tracker in Kaadir's car, Bhoora strangles Kaadir to death in the parking lot of the building where Maanav and Katkar are. He arrives and disrupts Maanav's dance number, only to be held at gunpoint, by Katkar's men. Maanav realizes that Katkar has released their picture together to the India media, and now Maanav is labeled as a terrorist.

As Maanav is distracted, Katkar advises Bhoora to kill Maanav. Maanav was watching TV, just as Bhoora is about to shoot Maanav. Upon seeing his reflection, Maanav deflects the shot to Katkar's neck, who dies instantly. Maanav tells Bhoora that he killed Katkar. Now Bhoora understand what Maanav meant when he said that he didn't kill Vicky.

Katkar's men are alerted and arrive to kill them both. Maanav and Bhoora manage to defeat Katkar's men, before turning on each other. With his newfound inner strength, Maanav defeats and wounds Bhoora. As the police arrive, Maanav formulates a plan to make a deal with the Indian Embassy to project a story that the government used Maanav's situation and assigned him for the mission to track and kill Katkar (The Govt knew that Katkar was conducting a wedding and wanted Maanav to perform a dance number at the wedding. Vicky's murder and everything else was part of the cover to get Maanav to UK and in front of Katkar), thus saving him from imprisonment. Bhoora is sitting right next to Maanav but refuses to spare him (he can't return home without killing Maanav, as his family will be humiliated), out of ego, despite fully being aware of his innocence from the beginning. With no choice left, Maanav kills Bhoora and his plan becomes successful. He returns to India and is surrounded with greetings from his fans and the public outside the Mumbai airport.
