As the Swallows Got Thirsty is produced based on a real story of people living in the northeast of Turkey. For many years, in our country, there is a nature massacre under the name of Hydro Electric Power Plant (HEPP) construction. The companies eagerly come to the region to do their investments by showing no respects to the beaches, mountains and rivers. On the beautiful mountains of Black Sea Region, one of the villages who cannot remain unresponsive and insensitive is Ogena. Village people honorably give their legitimate and fearless fight against to the companies and to the police forces. Within this film, which tells the true story of the resistance to save the nature, all the actors and actresses are activists and village people.
