In Martinique, at the end of the 19th century. Abandoning the plantation in which they work, Hermansia and Tiquitaque, a couple of musicians, decide to settle in Saint-Pierre, then at its peak. But they will quickly become disillusioned: the majestic city, fascinated by Western music and instruments, rejects their drums, their bamboo pipes and their plantation songs. A long drift will then begin during which they will learn these rhythms from elsewhere. Their talent gave birth to the Biguine, a Métis creation of incredible vitality that would become the symbol of Saint-Pierre.
