'Second Base' is the follow up to the award-winning Boys of Summer (screened at Phoenix Film Festival - closing night - 2006). For years after the original project, people constantly asked the Director, Robert, 'how is your father?' This film answers that question and opens up many more. This is part two of six of an anthropological series, in the vein of 7up, with the next four films coming out every five years. It looks at life, death, Parkinson's disease, baseball and fatherhood through the eyes of Dan and Robert Cochrane.
In 2004, Dan, who has Parkinson's Disease, and his son, Robert, road-tripped 20,000 miles in two months to see a game at each of the 30 MLB parks. "Second Base", which is ready for release on Father's Day 2017, is the second of six documentaries following the progression of baseball, Parkinson's Disease, and a new generation born into this experience.—Robert David Cochrane
