Infamous among anime fans in Japan, this 1974 series by Knack Productions is known for its nonsensical plots, absurdly incompetent animation, and brutal 10-year-old hero. See young Ken Izumi gun down wave after wave of ineffectual aliens, while dealing with misaligned animation cels, repetitive music, and a near total lack of sound effects. The best joke is that none of this was meant as a joke.
The year is 2074, and the Juralians are launching an invasion on the futuristic cities of planet Earth. It is an alien race of cyclops-like creatures who can shape-shift. Their single eye produces a disintegration beam which can easily kill opponents or damage buildings. Regardless of their current form, Juralians do not have reflections in mirrors. The most effective defender of the planet is the superhuman school boy Ken Izumi. Any amount of light is enough to transform him into his alter ego of the warrior "Chargeman Ken". Conversely, darkness prevents him from transforming. Ken is determined to kill all the Juralians, including the non-combatants and the ones who have already fled away from the battles.—Dimos I
