Over the holidays, three couples at different stages of their lives traverse significant life turning moments at 7 Cherry Lane.

The trials and tribulations on three Christmas Eves twenty-five years apart of the owners of the house at 7 Cherry Lane are presented. 1973. It's day two of John and Lizzie Hamilton, eight and half months pregnant with their first child, living at the house. Not yet having unpacked anything, they just want a quiet first Christmas in the house together. That doesn't seem to be in the cards as Lizzie's family, the Sawyers, headed by her overbearing parents who seemingly think that service station owner/operator John isn't a good enough husband for their daughter, make the previously unannounced decision that the entire Sawyer clan will not only spend Christmas with them but actually stay at their house. 1998. Widowed Regina Johnston has made the decision to accept the marriage proposal of her boyfriend of one year, Nelson King, sell the house and move to Florida. While they like Nelson, Regina's two young adult offspring, Conrad and Winnie Johnston, are not happy about the news, most specifically the selling of their family home, especially as that's where they have spent all their Christmases together with the memory of their father, the one who really celebrated Christmas, embedded there. Conrad in particular does whatever he can to make his mother change her mind. 2023. Same-sex couple Mike and Zian Harrelson are spending their first Christmas together in the house by hosting a small Christmas Eve dinner with friends. They each have their own objectives with this dinner, Zian to have the smells of Christmas dinner fill the house in its preparation, and Mike, a professional chef, to cook their first Christmas dinner, but both their objectives seem to be at risk as their contractor, Quinn Lewis, promised them that he would complete their kitchen renovation by today, it seemingly still days away as the kitchen is in total disarray. What further throws a wrench into that plan is that they just learn that they have been approved as foster parents, their charge Tina who is to arrive this evening. The problems of the day make them wonder if they are prepared to be parents if they can't even prepare a Christmas dinner without issue. While the three families inhabiting the house are different in these three Christmas Eves, other ties between them beyond the house itself are shown.—Huggo
