Summaries

In the Land of Smiles, childhood is something bought and sold. Corridors of Children is a one-off, feature length documentary that explores the complex and confronting conditions that lead to child sexual exploitation in South East Asia. Rapid change in the social fabric of the region is transforming children's lives in ways never seen before. The ongoing westernization of Asia is placing enormous pressure on children throughout the region which is evidenced in the breakdown of traditional Asian family structures, widespread poverty and a lack of real employment opportunity. Corridors of Children seeks to shine a new light on our long held assumptions about child exploitation and asks whether it might just be ourselves who are ultimately responsible.—Anonymous
