Creature is the ferocious former gang leader from one of Canada's most notoriously violent neighborhoods known as Jane and Finch. We are given intimate access to a world where Latoya's friends and brother are being murdered around her. This is a life of daily struggle to bring Creature under control played out in her ongoing inner conflict between good and evil. It started as a news piece but as more people wanted to have their observations recorded it became a documentary on the issue of gang violence that plagues a city. The film is recorded using just an SLR camera combined with homemade videos and photographs. This provides a very personalized perspective and brutally raw view of those living in perpetual violence and despair.—Anonymous
