Planetary Robot Danguard Ace is a Japanese science fiction anime series created by Leiji Matsumoto in giant robot genre.

A mecha anime set in an unspecified future era. The natural resources of planet Earth have been depleted and humanity starts migrating towards other planets. The tenth planet of the Solar System, Promete, is attracting explorers and settlers. The peaceful migration ends when the would-be-conqueror Mr. Doppler demands exclusive rights over Promete. He has somehow recruited a military force that is larger than the Earth's forces. The Earth's governments start constructing combat robots to use in their war against Doppler, but most of these robots are attacked and destroyed before their completion. The exception is the robot Danguard Ace which is rescued by a defector from Doppler's forces. The robot become's the primary weapon of the Earth in this war.—Dimos I
