A pathological liar has a fabulous talent for selling her fantasies and now she has the art community in her sight.

Morten Grunwald, Jesper Langberg and Willy Rathnow play three young artists who, together with their muse, Helle Hertz, poke fun at the folk music. The young artists are as convinced of their talent as they are disappointed by the lack of recognition. The problem is therefore how to become famous and get the painting sales going. As experience shows that most painters' fame only comes when they have left this earthly life, the three grumble about which of them will disappear as 'departed by death' and then achieve honor and fame. But in their youthful excess, a development is set in motion which very quickly takes power away from them. The situation is further complicated when Judy Gringer suddenly appears in the arena as the 'deceased's' fiancee and with charm and audacity takes over the administration of his comet-like fame as well as the large amount of money that flows in from the sale of the 'deceased's' paintings, which are now quoted at top prices. After this, the antics develop quickly, and one farcical situation replaces the other.—Nordiskfilmplus
