The comical adventures of a brave if klutzy knight and his companions who live in a fantastical medieval kingdom. Just like in the classic arcade the show is based on, the viewers are asked to guess which path leads the hero to safety.
Developed by the powerhouse animation crew put together by Joe Ruby and Ken Spears, the Dragon's Lair cartoon made many contributions to the Dragon's Lair video game saga, from naming the Dragon "Singe" to rounding out the cast with such memorable supporting players as Bertram the horse (voiced by Peter Cullen), Timothy the squire (voiced by Michael Mish) and Sir Hubert Blunt the knight. Mimicking the action of the video game, the show occasionally pauses the action and the Storyteller asks the audience which action Dirk the Daring should take next in his never-ending quest to protect the kingdom of King Ethelred and his beloved Princess Daphne.
An animated adaptation of the video game series "Dragon's Lair" and a tribute to chivalric romances. Dirk the Daring is the most competent knight of a medieval kingdom. He regularly has to defend the kingdom and to rescue his own love interest, Princess Daphne. Among other adventures, he has to defeat Singe the Dragon, clear the name of a friend who has been framed for crimes, defeat a duo of sorcerers, recover a haunted armor, prevent the rejuvenation of an evil witch, and end the climate change schemes of Urisk who wants to turn the entire world into a hot desert.—Dimos I
