After the events of The Evil Pugs, Joey and Charlie are once again terrorized by the Necronomicon. In an attempt to reverse their misfortune, they read from the cursed Book of the Dead. This ends up digging them an even deeper hole than before, where they find themselves in a strange and unfamiliar land.—Joey Avena
After the events of The Evil Pugs, Charlie throws away the strange book without a second thought, and continues like nothing ever happened. Eventually, the book escapes from the trash bin and makes its way back into the house. The book waddles over to Squiggy, who is perched in his bed licking himself. The book uses this opportunity to once again take control of the pug. Joey and Charlie are too busy playing pool to notice this unfold. After Charlie is questioned by Joey about the mysterious book, Charlie responds with a vague answer akin to "You don't want to know". Just then, Lenny and Squiggy make their way back downstairs to greet the two friends. Before they have a chance to attack the pair, Charlie has a flashback to the event of them attacking Joey. This sends Charlie into a state of panic, where he swings at Squiggy right as he attempts to attack Joey. Charlie then notices that the book has reached its way back inside the house. Joey again questions Charlie's actions before being interrupted by Lenny, who is attempting to harm Joey by the neck. Charlie tries to reach for the book, but falls down the stairs in the process. This however, gives him the opportunity to fight back against the book. Following the short fight, Charlie grabs Lenny and launches him into the next room, before helping Joey back to his feet. Joey then has a flashback to the previous event that he forgot about. Almost immediately, he is then dragged away by the feet by Squiggy and is mauled into a bloody mess. Charlie reads a short incantation from the book, which results in Joey's death being reversed and bringing him back to his feet. After reading another spell, they are transported to a silent film style environment, where they can only communicate in dialogue cards. The next spell brings them to a Minecraft world. After Joey remarks about his "square ass", they are brought to a scene where they are able to break the forth wall, and physically see the crew members filming their every move. The second to last spell attempt forces Joey to dawn a ridiculous outfit before flipping the book right-side-up. This last spell brings them back to normalcy. With everything back to the way they were, they decide to continue their card game. Just then, a door swings open, revealing a portal which pulls them in. They arrive in an outdoor environment, where a group of cowboys approach them in confusion. Out of nowhere, a pug shows up and sprints towards Charlie. Terrified, the cowboys try to shoot at the pug to no avail. Charlie calmly takes his chip bag and uses it to subdue the violent pug. Seeing this, the cowboys celebrate the capture of the terror dog.
