Synopsis

Formula 1 or simply F1 is the highest form of single seater racing cars. F1 began in 1950 with a 70 lap race at Silverstone circuit in the United Kingdom, which was ultimately won by Juan Manuel Fangio, racing for Alfa Romeo, however it was his team mate, Giuseppe Farina who won the championship. When Formula 1 started, there were only six races, while in modern day, there are over 20 races in a Formula 1 season.

Through the years, Formula 1 has traveled the globe, entertaining fans from all sorts of countries. Formula One have raced on every continent except Antarctica, competing on historic circuits such as, Silverstone, Brands Hatch and Donnington Park in the UK, Spa in Belgium, Monza in Italy, Suzuka in Japan and Sao Paulo in Brazil, as well as street circuits, like Monaco, Melbourne Australia, Baku Azerbaijan and Singapore. F1 has also kept changing specifications and in 2022, F1 saw their biggest change in many years.

Overtime, Formula One has become more and more popular, not only with fans but with drivers as well and has now become the most popular motorsport in the world, with 1.55 billion fans worldwide.

Unfortunately, Formula 1 hasn't always been as safe as it is today, and they have lost a few notable drivers in an incident such as, the 1988, 1990 and 1991 world champion, Ayrton Senna, as well as Roland Ratzenberger.

Currently, the two drivers with the most World Championship titles are Lewis Hamilton and Michael Schumacher with seven each. In terms of the constructors championship, Ferrari has the most with sixteen.
