Summaries

In a dystopian future controlled by a totalitarian regime, Matthew must fight for freedom to find his daughter, risking everything to break free from a society where a central AI called 'Beauty', dictates identity, loyalty, and survival.

The G.O.D.TECH setting is in a near-future fictional universe which is a post-apocalyptic Earth in the year 2029. All nations are ruled by the World Parliament which promotes the idea of a united world of peace and prosperity. However everything is not as idealistic as it appears as this society is controlled and monitored by micro-chipped implants created by the Free American Technological Human Extension Research Institution (or FATHER Institute). These cybernetic implants provide a means for identification, all trade and communication between all people and races on the planet. Although these chip implants are mandatory by law, there are those who have refused to accept them and those who do refuse are automatically branded as 'anti-peace terrorists' and are hunted down and forced to either accept chip implantation or they will be removed from society in whatever way is decided at the time. These so called terrorists have a worthy fear of being implanted as many of them are aware that beneath the wholesome and trustworthy public face of the FATHER Institute is a dark and unholy core with the ultimate aim of controlling all the peoples of the world and turning them away from the one true God with false promises of power, wealth and prosperity. The terrorists, often being followers of God, live on the fringe of society surviving on their wit and faith. God has granted his army of righteousness spiritual gifts to aid in their continual fight against persecution and corruption of the FATHER Institute.—Jason Thornton

Synopsis

Based on the novel GOD Tech: Mark of the Beast by David John Jeffery, the story, GODTECH, centers around a dystopian world where a totalitarian organization named "F.A.T.H.E.R." has established extensive control over society through technology, surveillance, and indoctrination. In this society, people are compelled to wear head implants that track and control their actions. Characters like Matthew Corby (Sam Dunning), his family, and others are caught in a web of manipulation, where microchips serve as identity markers and surveillance tools, and anyone resisting is branded as a "terrorist."

As Matthew's daughter, Alice, is taken by soldiers due to her family's connection to the underground resistance, he and his wife, Mary, struggle to protect their children and navigate this oppressive system. The plot involves themes of sacrifice, where individuals are forced into making decisions that impact their loved ones' safety. Alongside a futuristic class of "Helper" androids, these devices serve F.A.T.H.E.R.'s interests but also restrict freedom and individuality, led by the Angel of the Messiah (Eric Roberts).

The narrative escalates as Matthew confronts this system, challenging the enforced unity and the moral corruption of those in power. In his search for his family, he encounters underground resistance members and other survivors, discovering hidden camps and staging efforts against the government's reach. The story weaves themes of family loyalty, the erosion of personal freedoms, and the fight against technological oppression, all under the haunting gaze of F.A.T.H.E.R.
