During the communist regime, a struggling Czech actor joins the secret police as an informant to manage to make a living. He soon finds himself caught up in a dangerous web of deception and betrayal.

Central Europe in the 1950s: Czech Stanislav Láník is a talented actor. However, his position affects the staff profile. The father died in the resistance, the mother was killed after a neighbor was accused of allegedly collaborating with the Germans. All he had left was sister Agnes and grandmother. But he doesn't want to give up his dream of a big theater.
