Karen, an insomniac, becomes addicted to eerie, disturbing videos of people sleeping. As she indulges, her life spirals out of control.

After the passing of her mother, Karen moves back to her hometown on the Oregon coast. Between working at a porn shop and selling alcohol to high school kids; her life is truly at a dead end. Sleeping during the day and working at night, Karen finds herself desperate for something more. One night, a customer comes into the shop asking for "sleep tapes": Illicit recordings of people sleeping. These tapes immediately pique Karen's interest, and a bond is formed between the two. As Karen delves deeper into her newfound hobby, her life begins to unravel in the most dysphoric of ways. With a bleak, eerie, and quiet style that reflects her state of mind; the heart of this film is revealed not only in what Karen feels, but in what she doesn't.—Stacey Williams
