Kyousuke Kasuga is a completely normal Japanese high school student, with two very big problems. The first is his complete and utter inability to choose between two girls, the bright, bubbly, and overbearing Hikaru, and the moody, beautiful, Madoka. The second problem... well... he has telekinesis, and doesn't want anybody to know about it.—Mike Toole <[email protected]>
An animated adaptation of the manga series ""Kimagure Orange Road" (Capricious Orange Road, 1984-1987) by Izumi Matsumoto. The teenage boy Kyosuke Kasuga comes from a family of espers, and he has developed several superhuman abilities, including teleportation, telekinesis, time-slipping (a form of time-travel), hypnosis, and a superhuman sense of hearing. He and his family have moved often to avoid their secrets being exposed and exploited. While starting junior high at a new school, Kyosuke notices acts of altruism from his classmate Madoka Ayukawa and starts falling for her. Madoka has a reputation as a tough delinquent, but she is actually a misunderstood loner. Kyosuke also develops feelings for Madoka's best friend Hikaru Hiyama. Hikaru was initially the only person to see through Madoka's fearsome facade, as Madoka had protected her from a bully some years ago. Hikaru has grown into a brawler, but she is extremely loyal to her few friends. Besides the complications of this love triangle, a subplot involves Kyosuke trying to convince Madoka to quit smoking and take better care of herself.—Dimos I
