A street vendor and an abandoned child travel through rural China. Respectively in search of revenge and a father, they end up finding themselves instead.

The film tells a story about a peddler named Gouren and a kid named Maodou. We watch as Gouren seeks revenge over the loss of his child, while Maodou continues his journey to look for his father. Gouren and Madous' relationship evolves from being resentful towards one another into a somewhat sweet father son bond. During Gourens journey towards redemption, hope slowly begins to kindle within him, with the feeling of revenge fading away day by day. All while, Maodou begins developing a sense of true belonging and understanding for his place in life.

The only son of truck driver Gouren passed away due to illness. Gouren believed that his best friend had caused his son's death, and filled himself with grief and anger as he embarked on the path of seeking revenge, only to encounter the "Wild Kid" Maodou on the way. Maodou, who had no family, was obsessed with finding his father who was working outside, causing a commotion in the truck. In order to demand compensation for the goods, Gouren had to take Maodou on the road, and the two embarked on a journey of finding their loved ones that was both ironic and hilarious. The 'Wild Kid' constantly causes trouble, and the 'Wild Adult' also causes trouble all the way; In this particularly cold winter, one big and one small are laughing together, sharing difficulties, and two lonely and helpless souls are gradually approaching.
