The story of a young bee named Maya and her adventures.

An adaptation of the German children's novel "The Adventures of Maya the Bee" (1912) by Waldemar Bonsels. Maya is an inquisitive and adventurous young honeybee who wants to explore the world surrounding the beehive and to make friends. She is exiled for insubordination, but she has several adventures with insect friends from various species. When Maya learns that hornets are preparing an attack on her former beehive, Maya risks her life and freedom to warn her fellow bees. She is pardoned for her "crimes", and she becomes a teacher to a new generation of bees.—Dimos I
