An eccentric bookseller, Reginald Thorne (Gordon Chater), is obsessed by the exploits of Sherlock Holmes. Along with his assistant, Bobby Farrell (John Farnham), he solves mysteries.
Bobby is out of work and takes a job as an assistant at mr Throne's book store. Mr Thorne is obsessed with Sherlock Holmes and eventually get himself and Bobby mixed up in stopping a protection racket.
