In the early 1900s, the life story of the Smith family in St. Louis, and their daughter's love for the boy next door.

Based on the characters from the MGM hit of the same name, this TV pilot is about one day in the life of the Smith family. At the turn of the twentieth century, the family is throwing a party for a visitor in their neighborhood. Heartaches and laughter ensue.
