A woman accustomed to always having the last word in every situation finds herself trying to "rescue" her grandson Jesse from being signed away to grow up in an institution for Down Syndrome children.
A young couple has twins; unfortunately, one of them, Jesse, has Down syndrome. After realizing that she has difficulties coping, the mother, Tammy, decides to place Jesse with a family that has taken in several similar children.
