Elsa is stunned: her late husband squandered his fortune on the stock market and left her with a mountain of debt and only a villa in Croatia that is ready for demolition. Her pragmatic daughter Fanny advises her to sell immediately, while her granddaughter Clara would like to see the ominous house first - maybe something can be made of it? Elsa is enthusiastic about this idea, Fanny less so. Her relationship with her mother is strained, but she cannot let this impulsive and ill-considered woman set off alone with her daughter, who has just come of age. Fanny is forced to accompany the two of them and soon regrets her decision. The car is stolen, Clara sinks into lovesickness - and Elsa squanders money in luxurious hotels that she no longer has: sparks fly between the women, who think differently, but in the course of their chaotic tour they are repeatedly confronted with obstacles that they can only overcome together.
