Roshan lives a poor lifestyle in Bombay with his widowed mother, who thinks he is gainfully employed, but Roshan has made crime his career and picks pockets and gambles for a living. A gangster named Shankar wants to hire him, but he refuses. Then one day Roshan steals 3000 Rupees from a man named Mohan, who was about to remit this amount to his Madhopur-based widowed mother and unmarried sister Shukal, so that they can pay off the mortgage on their residence. When the money gets stolen, Mohan kills himself. A guilt-ridden Roshan travels to Madhopur, pays off their debt, and returns home without telling anyone about Mohan's demise. Madhopur Police subsequently find out that the money was stolen from Universal Bank and start an investigation. Roshan is faced with another challenge when Shukal and Manglu Mama come to the city to meet Mohan, and Roshan and Shukal fall in love with each other. To complicate their romance, a cabaret dancer, Rita, pretends to fall in love with Roshan and moves in with him and his mother while the Police close in on Roshan, threatening to expose him as a thief in his mother's and everyone's eyes.—rAjOo ([email protected])

Synopsis

Roshan is an observed pickpocket. But he presents himself as a very reputed guy to his mother and the community. Roshan flees the city after stealing a necklace that a wealthy couple had purchased. He is rescued from the chasing police by an unidentified individual, but he refuses to disclose whoever saved him. Later, Roshan learns that the stranger who helped him stole the necklace, which he was intending to gamble on, because of his excitement about stealing it. Because of this, he is beaten and taken away by the owner of the gambling hall. Roshan becomes pals with Daboo, a fellow gambler who also frauds others. Later on, Rita, an upper-class girl, gets introduced to the two of them. Rita slaps Roshan and Daboo after becoming enraged at their actions. After learning Rita's true identity the following day, Roshan and Daboo decide to exact revenge on her by attending a cabaret night that she is hosting. When Roshan notices that Rita has the stolen necklace around her neck, he strikes her and takes it. But he is unable to escape as he is attacked by the unknown person who stole the necklace, aka Shankar's disciples. Roshan is invited to work alongside Shankar, but he declines. Rita's beauty was insufficient to convince him. Mohan, a worker for Shankar, disappears in the meantime, takes three thousand rupees out of the drawer, and flees. But Roshan and Daboo take extreme caution take this money from Mohan. Mohan kills himself after realizing he has lost all of his money. Roshan realizes his mistake and travels to Mohan's hometown to give his mother the money back after learning that Mohan stole it in order to transfer money to her in order to save their home. After discovering the truth about Mohan, Roshan secures the house and quickly departs from the area. Later, after considering giving up his pickpocket career, Roshan accepts to collaborate with Shankar. Rita and Daboo, in the meantime, trick Roshan's mother into believing Rita is Roshan's girlfriend. In the meantime, the police discover that Roshan provided the house buyer with the stolen money. Given that Roshan is aware that Shankar is amassing money unjustly, Roshan declines to serve under him. But Shankar's followers attack him. In the meantime, Manglu Mama and Shukal, Mohan's sister, travel to the city in order to locate Roshan and give him the necklace they discovered under his coat. When they request to meet Mohan, Roshan misleads them with a series of excuses. Roshan is informed by the police that the three notes he delivered to the buyer of the home are part of the 200,000 that was stolen from Universal Bank. Roshan assists the police in apprehending Shankar. As a first move, Roshan chooses to wed Rita on false pretenses. Roshan and Shukal begin to fall in love in the meantime. The two later tie the knot. At the end, Roshan and Rita get married, but before it can end, Roshan is taken into custody by the police in accordance with a prearranged plot. Caught in Roshan's trap, Rita assists the police in apprehending Shankar. Shankar assaults Roshan during a celebration of Rita and Roshan's marriage because he is furious about their union. However, Shankar and his supporters are taken into custody upon the unexpected entry of the police. However, Shankar is shot by the police when he tries to flee. Roshan then tells Rita that he did not marry her and that it was a trap he set to trap Shankar. Rita becomes enraged and reveals to Shukal that Roshan is to blame for Mohan's suicide. Shukal breaks away from Roshan, shocked. Shukal won't forgive Roshan no matter how much he tries. Rita goes to Roshan's mother and tells her that Roshan is a pickpocket, and he has been lying to his mother all this time. Roshan's mother is saddened to know that she has been living on stolen money for so long and commits suicide by jumping out of the window. Roshan swears that he won't do anything improper in the vicinity of his mother's cremation. At the end of the movie, Shukal forgives Roshan, and they are well united.
