Artists around the UK come together to compete for who has the best original celebrity portrait.

In this TV series amateur and professional portrait artist from around the UK compete for a £10,000 commission to paint a celebrity and to have their portrait included in the national gallery. The series starts with several heats in which 9 artists split up in groups of three each paint a different celebrity in front of a backdrop inspired by a famous painter. From each regional round 1 artist moves on to the half finals, from which only three move on to the finals.—Rpil
