Summaries

A small-town Southern boy named Marty Preston must rescue a young beagle from his abusive owner, Judd Travers.

An abused beagle runs away from his owner, Judd Travers. On the road, he meets young Marty Preston and follows him home. Marty immediately forms a bond with him and names him Shiloh. His stern father, Ray, won't let him keep Shiloh because he belongs to Judd. After he is mistreated again, he runs away and returns to Marty. Knowing Ray will once again make him bring Shiloh back to Judd, he makes a home for him in an old shed up the hill from the Prestons' house and hides him from his family. His secret is soon discovered when a stray attacks Shiloh one night and he must turn to Ray for help.—Daniel Bubbeo <[email protected]>
