A young entrepreneur turns Belgium's Moroccan community on its head by trying to change their funeral tradition.

Widower Omar Boulasmoum (65) runs a repatriation company. He arranges funeral insurances and repatriates Moroccans to their country of origin. Just before Omar leaves for Mecca, he donates the business to daughter Nadia and son Ishmael, known as Smile. In this way Omar hopes to get his 'prodigal son', who wants nothing to do with the company, on the right track. Omar has only just left when things go off the rails. Rachid and Nadia are dealing with a family who can't agree on where their deceased should be buried: here or in Morocco. It is ultimately Smile who, by chance, comes up with the idea that you can also bury people 'here' in earth from 'there'. A compromise à la Belge.
