Synopsis

A middle aged man casts his troubled thoughts back to when he first started his compulsive collecting, during his childhood filled with pennies, seashells and football cards. His mothers love pushes him away from these but further into his compulsion, fueled by his uncles gift of used stamps to steam off and sort out. He recalls how addiction flared in his 20s, caught up in a world of music and drugs, unable to enjoy these things the way those around him did, gripped by a constant need to keep chopping and changing, collecting different flavours and sounds until he burned himself out. In present day he has hidden himself away in a country cottage, managing his obsession through bird watching, There is however a darkness within, a force that threatens to overwhelm him after a meeting with his neighbour, an animal hunter and trophy seeker. It is only after the death of his uncle that he is offered a true glimpse of his future. In a moment of crazed clarity, he tries to destroy his last remaining original collection.
