Synopsis

Our Story Begins:

Dylan is an ordinary doofus, who has survived the Virus spread that has killed off most of humanity. He lives alone in an abandoned town, where his father started a Red Cross relief station. He survives, day-to-day, off of the dwindling Red Cross supplies. Dylan's attire is jarring, with his appearance being the only bright or 'fresh' color amongst a very dull and dilapidated surrounding. This situation reminds the viewer of what a grim pandemic would be like in America.

After about a year of solitude, Dylan comes face-to-face with Amherst Industries, the company who supposedly spread this 'Virus.' This comes in the form of a two man Cleaner Team, looking to eradicate survivors. A sleeper agent, Agent-753, is spotted using a delusive maneuver by running up to the scene with his motorbike. The sleeper agent's silence proves effective once he has downed both of his Targets using an assault rifle and tactical orange smoke. Agent-753 sends the mission report and leaves behind a Broken Robot. He takes the Amherst Cleaner Team's SUV, and drives off to new adventures.

Dylan is then introduced to this Broken Robot, who has been left behind. The broken robot is eventually given the name of 'SAM.' After learning of SAM's battery-life capability, Dylan's most pressing use is to power an old Red Cross laptop and play video games. Once again, a grim and honest gaze upon a potential pandemic in America. After some conversation, SAM alerts Dylan of his satellite and GPS capability which would allow him access to the internet. Once on the World Wide Web, Dylan is met with a 'Government Alert' to quickly find a way toward the highlighted Safe Zones on a map of the local Region.

Eventually Dylan and SAM find themselves on a journey toward Safe Zone 57. Along this psychotronic adventure we learn about friendship, technology, family, and most of all deception. Dylan struggles with his inability to ration out food in a responsible fashion. Arguments of logic and ethics, go hand-in-hand with plans to scavenge food from others. Until SAM finally tells Dylan his least favorable human trait is, empathy.

Dylan and SAM reach the supposed Safe Zone 57, which appears to be a 'Virus Containment Camp.' Hungry and desperate for luxury, Dylan plunders through the campsites of this abandoned area. SAM is left in the main medical tent and physically connected to a desktop computer with antenna support. Dylan comes upon an area that is marked with caution, where he discovers the corpse of a patient.

Dylan confronts SAM about this area being contaminated and learns of the Robot's true intentions. SAM's creator is Dr. Amherst, whom the Virus is rumored to have been weaponized by. The Broken Robot's primary 'directive' is: 'Eradicate Humanity.' Dylan learns that he has contracted the Virus and is doomed. Dylan shoots SAM with his pistol and the Broken Robot stops functioning.

Dylan comes to a grim point laying on the cold snow, realizing the results of past mistakes. Alone on a road, he seems to come to terms with the current situation and slips away into silence. Unconscious, Dylan is found by a survivor team lead by another sleeper agent, Agent-602, and a Medic. Dylan is given what appears to be an antidote to the Virus, and looks back to his past as they drive off toward the safety of other humans.

Mid-Credits Scene -

The Broken Robot powers back on, and uses the deceptive practice of misconstruing 'Dylan's Voice' to make a scrambled Radio Broadcast. The broadcast reports to survivors the false safety of the Broken Robot's location. A Survivor travels to the location of this malfunctioning Artificial Intelligence. SAM is last seen traveling along, strapped to the back of a new Host.
