Since that time, every king in Veerbhadra's lineage protects the nectar and is called "Drona".

Far away in a distant town, there was once a young man named Aditya (Abhishek Bachchan), Brought up by a foster family, Adita was unaware of his real identity and the destiny that awaited him. Ever since he was a child, a recurring nightmare haunted him. And when he woke up in fright, there was no one he could ever hold on to except for a magical BlueCross petal that came wafting in the wind, never failing to make him smile through his tears.Aditya is hated by his foster mother Mini and foster brother Rajesh. His foster dad was the only one who liked Aditya, but he died. Aditya grows up and still protects Rajesh from goons when he gets into poker debt. A blue petal falls from the sky and leads Aditya to a golden bracelet in his cupboard, which Aditya wears.

Somewhere far from here, an evil sorcerer, Riz Raizada (Kay Kay Menon), a descendant of the Asuras (legendary demons) had become dangerously impatient, in his thirst for the precious secret. The secret, which was the missing link, in this grand plan of taking over the universe. To get to the secret, he'd have to defeat the Drona and get the nectar of immortality. And herein, lay his problem. He didn't know who or where the Drona was!

One sudden day Aditya and Riz came face to face (when Riz conducts a magic show in London and Aditya attends) and Riz immediately recognized him as the Drona (from the bracelet on Aditya's wrist). Aditya's destiny had caught up with him and his life was about to take him on a journey he had never imagined. Aditya couldn't comprehend why Riz's men were hunting him down. Just when he was about to be captured, a cult that believed that The Drona was their Messiah came to his rescue. The cult is made of people that Aditya sees daily in his life, without knowing that they were all there to protect him. This includes Sister Anne, a baker in Rajesh's shop, the poker debt collection goons and so on. Sonia saves Aditya before he is captured by RIz's men.

Sonia (Priyanka Chopra), the leader of the cult, revealed Aditya's real identify to him. Baffled, Aditya found it all too hard to believe. Having no time to lose, Sonia decided to take Aditya back to his place of birth, the ancient kingdom of Pratapgarh where his mother, Queen Jayanti Devi (Jaya Bachchan) would have all the answers to his questions. But before he could embrace his mother, Riz and his army of the darkest powers caught up with him. Aditya would now have to rise to the occasion and embrace his destiny. For the sake of mankind, he would have to become the legendary warrior he was born to be. Drona.Aditya, using the powers of the bracelet, can command infinite strength and uses those powers to defeat Riz's magical minions.

Aditya makes it to Pratapgarh and meets Jayanti. Jayanti tells Aditya how a long line of Drona's has protected the nectar of immortality. She also says that a 8 yr old Riz killed Aditya's father after he was returning from a battle with a Asura. Jayanti knew that Riz will now come for Aditya, so she sent him away with commander Tejveer to his new life, and Sonia is his daughter.Jayanti sets fire to a part of the palace and announces that Aditya perished. Riz is furious and destroys the whole palace. Jayanti is convinced that some divine power got the bracelet to him in London. Aditya finds the blue roses at the cemetery of his ancestors, meaning they were guiding him all these years.

Riz finds Jayanti and Aditya and casts a spell that turns Jayanti to stone. He can give her life, but only if Aditya gives the secret of the nectar to him. Aditya is helpless and asks for help from his ancestors. At each tomb he finds a shining artifact, all of which he collects. they join automatically and when Aditya puts his bracelet on top it opens to reveal a grain of rice, printed with the location of the nectar.Aditya hands over the grain to Riz, but he sets fire to Aditya instead and leaves. The spirits of Aditya's ancestors save him.

To find the secret of the grain, Sonia takes Aditya to Raazpur, a city of craftsmen who once engraved the grain themselves. Aditya and Sonia find that Riz has already been to Raazpur and has killed the craftsman who created that grain of rice. But before dying the craftsman wrote on a paper with a wooden stick. Drona puts coal on it to figure that the riddle talks about his horse Devdutt who roams in the desert.

Riz's minions capture the horse, but Drona intercepts the train on which he is being transported, fights and defeats the minions and frees DEvdutt. Devdutt takes Drona and Sonia to a location in the desert where he finds a protected chest. The chest has another riddle which reveals that the breath of Drona's shadow on a seashell will point the secret to the nectar. Drona says that Sonia is his shadow and at that moment Riz captures Sonia & the sea-shell with a net. Riz drags Sonia out to his ship at sea and sails away. Drona is powerless to intervene.Thats when the blue petals arrive again, and along with Devdutt, they point the way to a cave, where Aditya finds the Drona sword. With Drona's sword, Aditya attacks Riz's lair and fights through his minions.

Meanwhile Riz forces Sonia to blow the sea-shell and it opens a space portal to the location of the nectar. Riz travels through the portal. Aditya rescues Sonia and they soon follow on Devdutt. The location is a desert with an inscription that a drop of Drona's blood will force the nectar to ooze out of the desert. Riz is about to be defeated but uses magic to confuse Drona and strike a blow to his back. This causes blood to spill and the nectar comes out. But Drona gathers his strength and strikes a mighty blow to the ground to topple Riz. Then Drona kills Riz with his sword. With that, Jayanti comes back to life. The nectar is hidden again.Yrs later, Aditya and Sonia are married and have a son. Another Asura is on the trail of the nectar. The legend continues.
