Television series about Jim Rockford, an ex-convict-turned-private-investigator who would rather run away than fight and would rather go fishing than work. He isn't a coward, and he isn't lazy -- just rather on the cautious side, that's all. And he bears a very strong resemblance to Western television hero Bret Maverick. In this television series, Jim Rockford is an easygoing private investigator who specializes in closed cases. He was formerly convicted (and later pardoned) for an armed robbery he didn't commit. He lives in an exterior battered (and very well appointed on the interior) mobile home on the Malibu beach. The cases he takes usually turn out to be more difficult and dangerous than he initially imagines, and he often ends up in situations over his head.
