The satiric half-hour adventures of a working-class family in the misfit city of Springfield.
This is an animated sitcom about the antics of a dysfunctional family. Homer is the oafish unhealthy beer loving father, Marge is the hardworking homemaker wife, Bart is the perpetual ten-year-old underachiever (and proud of it), Lisa is the unappreciated eight-year-old genius, and Maggie is the cute, pacifier loving silent infant.—Sam Kelly
Set in Springfield, the average American town, the show focuses on the antics and everyday adventures of the Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as a virtual cast of thousands. Since the beginning, the series has been a pop culture icon, attracting hundreds of celebrities to guest star. The show has also made name for itself in its fearless satirical take on politics, media and American life in general.—Anonymous
The Simpsons are a very politically incorrect family. Homer works with pride in a nuclear power plant run with more regard for profit that safety. His wife is Marge, a kind of supermom. They have three kids: Bart, an underachiever ("and proud of it"), Lisa (who is as serious and responsible as Bart isn't), and Maggie.—Murray Chapman <[email protected]>
The Simpsons is the ultimate (if very unorthodox) nuclear family. Homer, the lovable dufus father, stumbles apathetically through his family life and work at the local nuclear power plant. Marge, the overbearing, but responsible mother, Bart, the fourth grade underachiever and nemesis to Springfield elementary's principal, Lisa, the brainy and responsible eight-year-old, and Maggie, the oft-forgotten baby, round out the family. Based on a series of small cartoon sketches from The Tracy Ullman Show (1987), the Simpsons enjoy many wacky exploits in their hometown and beyond. Other characters include an incompetent lawyer, the tyrranical nuclear power plant owner, the too-perfect neighbors (the Flanders) of the Simpsons, and the less than perfect "Klown", Krusty. Colorful characters and situations abound.—Sam Hayes <[email protected]>
'The Simpsons' are a dysfunctional family that have a tendency to go on wacky adventures. The family consists of five members, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie.
Homer: husband of Marge and father of Bart, Lisa and Maggie. He is a safety supervisor at the nuclear power plant and loves his family, even though he can be a bit aggressive at times, like strangling Bart. Homer also loves doughnuts and food in general. He can be a bit lazy at times.
Marge: wife of Homer and mother of Bart, Lisa and Maggie. Marge is frequently seen doing jobs around the house and sometimes feels a bit left out by her family. Sometimes she gets mad at Homer and makes him sleep on the couch or even kicks him out the house until he realizes what he's done. Marge does appear to have a connection to all her kids.
Bart: At 10 years of age, Bart is Homer and Marges first born child. He is often considered mischievous, but has also portrayed signs of really caring about people round Springfield. Bart also loves to prank and hang out with his best friend, Milhouse.
Lisa: At 8 years of age, Lisa is the first born Daughter and middle child of the family. She is the smartest member of the family and is talented, as she is frequently seen playing her saxophone, she has also been seen playing the guitar. Lisa tends to differ from her family, as she is a vegetarian and a Buddhist.
Maggie: As the baby, Maggie is the second born Daughter and youngest member of the Simpson family, she rarely talks in the series, but has still shown signs of intelligence and has even been seen changing her own diaper. Despite being sweet most of the time, Maggie has shown signs of being a bit aggressive with weapons.
