The uncle Eusèbe (Alexandre Rignault) of high-ranking politician Horace Tumelat (Victor Lanoux) commits suicide, but his suicide note cannot be found. In his search, the politician comes across dodgy journalists and cunning rivals - but also a young woman with whom he falls madly in love.
