O My God

Bananas is a broadcast-friendly, comedy television series produced by Guardian Studios and is taped before a live audience. The show features a different nationally recognized comedian each week and is hosted by L.A. comic, Thor Ramsey.

The series revolves around Joe Jabaloe and his cowboy friends and the adventures they experience in the saloon of his mother Moe Jabaloe.

Co-hosted by a 'serious' anchorman who tried to do his job and a comedian dressed as a Mexican indian with an attitude, this successful live show had interviews, songs, jokes, but distinctively it made its own advertising by playing with the product of the sponsors and sometimes ruining it. For many years this was the oldest show of Mexican television, which continued its broadcasts in black and white even when color TV was common in households. It lasted over 3 decades.

Retired botanist Peter Gan (Richard Ng) moved in with his son, Mark (Chua En Lai), after his wife passed away. But he had a rude shock when he realizes that he has to take on the task of caring for his only grandson Joshua, as Mark and his wife, Penelope (Elaine Daly), are both workaholics. What shocks him further is that Penelope's father, the flamboyant but bankrupt Tony Gomez (Indy Nadarajah), also moved in with them as he has no where else to go. Together, the squabbling pair has to navigate the ups of downs of bringing up their grandson and also their own twilight years. This light-hearted dramedy celebrates life's sunset years, an empowering and rewarding phase of life, with a dose of humor.
