OUR GODFATHER is a feature-length documentary about Tommaso Buscetta, the first high-ranking Italian mafia boss ever to turn against Cosa Nostra. Buscetta helped convict more than 400 Mafiosi. He became the Mob's most wanted man in the world - and 11 members of his family were killed. "He was the most important, protected and endangered witness in US criminal history" The film tells - for the first time- the Buscetta story with exclusive access to his family, which is breaking its silence after 30 years in hiding.

This movie attempts to reconstruct the bankruptcy of the Banco Ambrosiano and its liaisons with the Vatican and the Masonry through the story of its President Roberto Calvi (Omero Antonutti), who was notoriously found dead under the Blackfriars Bridge in London, England in June 1982.

In the late 1970s and early 80s, assassinations in Sicily get the attention of Communist deputy, Pio La Torre, who appeals to General Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa to become prefect in Palermo and take on the Mafia. Dalla Chiesa approaches the job with the same focus and methods he used in hunting down the Red Brigade. His sweetheart, the much-younger Setti Carraro (everyone calls her Emanuela), wants to be with him in Palermo, but he sends her away, knowing he is in danger. Then, a few months into office, he asks her to marry him, and he tries to be both husband and investigator. Meanwhile, the Mafia bankers are feeling the heat, and they start with La Torre.

Through rare interviews, images and wiretap audio, this documentary reconstructs the last nine years of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar's life.
