Summary The first meeting of the Leo Alliance is held on Altea, and Raible decides that Fala should be the pilot of the Black Lion. The 4 men of the Golion are adamantly opposed to this, given her relative inexperience. Kogane relents after a private meeting with Raible. Meanwhile Daibazaal is alarmed that 42 worlds have broken away from the Galra Empire, Sincline assures him that everything is under control, and that he is having the leaders of those planets assassinated as he speaks. Fala's initial training as Black Lion's pilot end in failure as she loses control and is knocked unconscious in an accident. She awakes to a vision of her father who urges her to discipline herself. She trains herself hard, and is approach by Sincline, who offer to form an alliance with her. She refuses, Kogane shows up and challenges Sincline to a duel. Kogane is badly injured by Sincline's sword, and is taken to the hospital. Sincline launches a direct attack on Castle Gradam, with Kogane injured Fala feels she has no choice but to pilot Black Lion, so she rushes out to fight the enemy alone.
