Cesare's attempts to gain support fail due to the schemes of Sancia, whom he had imprisoned and whose brother he killed. Exile to Spain and confinement in the Castle of La Mota in follows. In 1504, he escapes and joins the King of Navarre and is subsequently killed in battle.
