The story is based on Chang 'an in the period of Emperor Yizong of Tang Dynasty, the Five Fingers Mountain of Buddha which located on the road the West, and the design prototype of Lin Tuyi, the leading role, is based on Erlang God. Lin Tuyi was brought up in the mountain of Cliff Village, isolated from the rest of the world, obsessed yearning to the King City, and desire to become a martial arts master, and walk around the world. The arrival of King City's army broke the quietness of Cliff Village, blowing up chaos, and lead to the love story of Lin Tuyi and the fox "Hula-ling".

Han Qi's parents are cruelly killed by soldiers. Luckily, Han Qi is saved by the lord of Linjing Valley, whom he accepts as his master. He then practices Taoism and becomes a martial arts expert. His master assigns a task to him, that is, to protect Zishang in Feng city, and assist her in finding the nine supreme tripods. After overcoming obstacles, they eliminate the demons in Feng city.
