Summary The Vikings land in the country of the Bulgarians and are being captured by a king who is constantly plagued by hunger. Through a trick Vicky and the Vikings are able to escape from the castle. All except Halvar, that is, who is detained by the Bulgarian king as a hostage. Vicky and his friends return disguised as Ethiopian master cooks and thus the king falls a victim to his own addiction.
