Meanwhile, Arthur is considering a job in the iron mining town of Mount Barker, so he, Mrs. Poppel, Kate, Lucy-May and Tob head over to see this place first hand. The children are not impressed by the humble appearance of the housing, but are thrilled by the sight of the many kangaroos roaming the area. They are quickly distressed by the sight of hunters pursuing the animals, however.
