Summary Unknown to Saw Boss, Audric is captured and one of many on board a slave ship. Jayce's root responds to Audric's and a disguised Jayce boards the slave ship in search of Audric. Audric's friends mistakenly think Jayce is an enemy and by the time they figure out who Jayce is, Audric has escaped the ship. Saw Boss is heading the ship into a space warp which will separate father and son forever. Jayce supplies the power and Flora the intelligence to a new vine of Audric's that magnetizes metal. Saw Boss is forced to flee. The new vines become the guardian of the space warp keeping Saw Boss out forever.
