Summary Carmichael receives intel that a British journalist, Nicola Gough, and an internal source, codenamed 'Tacitus', are arranging to meet, and he informs Hanna and Jules that they are to embark on their first mission - to 'intercept' the journalist before she can meet with Tacitus. Marissa finds herself in Camp G, Morocco, where she is kept under close watch, whilst in London, Hanna and Jules, pose as university students at the London university where Nicola's partner, Bethany, works. Jules expertly manipulates Bethany into inviting them both to an event at her and Nicola's home. Carmichael discovers that 'Tacitus' is travelling to Barcelona to meet Nicola and has a crucial target list in his possession. Sandy is overjoyed when she and Clara are selected to kill Tacitus and retrieve the list. Jules lets slip to Hanna that Clara and Sandy are en-route to Barcelona, and Hanna grows increasingly suspicious. At Nicola's house, Hanna overhears that Nicola will be meeting her source at Hotel Oriental in Barcelona and photographs her shorthand notebooks before sending everything to Terri as planned. However, in a second exchange with Nicola, Hanna begins to question what she has just done. Terri decodes the information and deduces that 'Tacitus' is a military lawyer named Robert Gelder. Sandy is ordered to befriend his daughter, Kat, in Barcelona, whilst Hanna and Jules ordered to kill Nicola. Knowing it's now or never to save Nicola's life, Hanna confides in Mannion, who promises to try and save Nicola. Unbeknownst to them both, Jules is watching them, and contacts Leo. When Hanna and Jules arrive at the tube station, Jules tricks Hanna into the confines of a tube carriage, where two assassins await her. On the platform, Jules kills Mannion before meeting Leo to murder Nicola. Hanna escapes from the tube, killing the two assassins, and runs back to the tube station to find Nicola and Mannion dead. In Barcelona, Clara watches as Robert Gelder arrives at the airport.
