Nothing in Ukraine seems the same from day to day. As the cold winds blow, so do the rules. A child who is on the Autism Spectrum in Ukraine can find no place in society. People work in different kinds of professions for survival. One of the most interesting professions is the gypsy life. Some particular groups of gypsies live in boats. In Bangladesh, education is not free. The gypsies in this country are so poor that many of them can't even send their children to school. However, a woman who lives there teaches some of the children of the gypsies. Even without proper education, the children are very creative. They can make ceramics with clay. The lifespan of the gypsies is short. They easily die at the age of fifty. It is because of the polluted water they use everyday from the River.

Betsy Dewitt Acquista fell in love with Sal, an Italian American man in New York and they started a family. On all accounts he was American - he had lived in the US for decades, was a legal permanent resident, was married to an American Citizen, and had three US citizen children. Yet when Sal was arrested, their life spiraled out of control when they found out that he would be deported back to Italy.

Rigel, Batanay and Giovanni are streetwise 16 and 17 year olds, locked up in youth detention for violent robberies. Through their eyes, the documentary shows the ways in which 'the system' ries to change them, the sluggishness of time in detention and how they struggle through their first half year of freedom.
