Shampoo discovers a broach which makes her feel the opposite of her true feelings for Ranma. Ranma begins to panic at the thought of losing one of his fiancees, and plans to tell Shampoo that he loves her.
A new homeroom teacher, Hinako Ninomiya can absorb battle aura such as Ranma and Kuno. She can also grow from Child-like to an adult version of herself.
Akane goes out to find out who is stealing food. But she runs into the sisters Natsume and Kurumi. The Tendo family let them stay but the sisters tell them they are searching for their father Soun Tendo.
Soun Tendo becomes upset when Natsume and Kurumi defeat Ranma and Akane to see who gets to own the Dojo. After Ranma says some mean things to Akane, she runs away and goes to train with Ryoga.
Ranma goes in search of Akane but worries he will lose her. Ryoga goes to save her from the Eight-Headed Orochi but thinks she might have a new boyfriend with Shinnosuke.
Kuno gets his hands on the Legendary Phoenix egg so he can get the Sword of the Phoenix. But then it hatches on his head and set's it's sights on Ranma and thinks it is his enemy.
The neighborhood association's annual trip for the community is coming up, and this year's organizers are Shampoo and Ukyo. The pair have arranged a trip to Harendo, the Cave of Lost Love-a cursed spot often visited by couples that is legendary for breaking them up
Twelve years after the final OVA was shown, and the end of the manga, a new piece of Ranma ½ animation was made for the "It's a Rumic World" exhibition of Rumiko Takahashi's artwork. The new 30 minute special is based on the "Nightmare! Incense of Spring Sleep" manga story from volume 34, and was shown on odd numbered days at the "It's A Rumic World" exhibition in Tokyo from July 30th to August 11th.
