Following the hazardous journey of one of Afghanistan's pioneering girls' schools.
In a story, with the back-drop of San Francisco's general labor strike of 1934 (depicted by newsreel footage), a Civil War veteran , Hank (Willard Mack), sets out to show his two oldest sons, Max (Ben Lyon) and George (Charles Sabin), the error of their ways when they take an interest in Communism propaganda. Willard Mack, who directed, wrote and starred in this film, died shortly after the film was finished.
At a historical crossroad, Sudan is about to split in two. A referendum on self-determination in early 2011 will likely separate the Muslim North and the Christian South into two countries. Yet the current country's capital Khartoum, is a haven of peace and stability here Sudanese from different regions, ethnicity and religion coexist.
