For almost thirty years Ned Randall has been trying to make it as an Actor, now in his forties his biggest claim to fame is playing a corpse in Taggart. Always believing that his big break is just around the corner he is affectionately referred to as Next Time Ned by his friends, family and the local community. However 'lady luck' may be on Ned's side as a documentary crew have decided to spend a week in his life in order to discover what makes this Man tick and what drives his pursuit of a career in an industry that's doors seem forever closed to him. Over the course of the week we follow Ned to several amusing but disastrous auditions, witness his first attempt at stand up comedy, follow his attempt to find a theatre willing to Produce his one man show of Reservoir Dogs: The Musical. We also join him as he attempts to reconcile his relationship with his son and deal with his ill mother. Often hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking but always entertaining Next Time Ned is a story about a man refusing to give up on his dream.

Jeremiah, a young painter, struggles to make his work meaningful. Spurred on by his father, he attempts to change perspective and find new inspiration. A chance encounter with a friend brings him in contact with MissT. She is a burlesque dancer happy with her art but unsatisfied with relationships. Skeptical at first, MissT comes to recognize a kindred spirit in Jeremiah. Inspired by her approach to performance, Jeremiah ventures to create his most personal painting yet, only to discover that his soul is not commercially viable.

We are introduced to two young girls living in Athens: The narrative focuses on the particularities of their souls, the rivalry between them, but also their common character trait: the obsession with illusions and stereotypes.

When Len Jones develops a beauty clay that brings wealth to his household, his wife Anastasia tires of him and falls in love with the beauty-shop manager, Paul Terry, a dashing young male vamp. She soon neglects their business and sells the shop to a rival, who turns out to be none other than her husband. Len acquires a new youthfulness by diet and exercise and turns the business into a highly successful enterprise, while Anastasia, learning that Terry is a scoundrel, is reconciled to her husband.
