Immortals and humans dwell in a land on the verge of collapse due to the disappearance of The Four Perils. Ichiyou travels with servant god Tenkou on a search to free his foster father, Hakugou, who was sealed in their place.
After embarking on their mission, Ichiyou and Tenkou drift to a small island in Okinawa where they meet a local boy, Ryuu, who invites them to stay at his house where he lives with his sister, a globe-trotting photographer.
The Eight Immortals rule over the Immortal Realm, led by the Queen Mother of the West. An orphan, Hakushurin lives in Ankei Home, a facility that cares for orphans and the elderly, built by one of the Eight Immortals, Kanshouri.
Ichiyou and Hakushurin grow closer playing together in the courtyard of the Celestial Palace of the Jade Pond as children. A curious Hakushurin asks Ichiyou about his servant-god, Tenkou, and the Minister of Kashi, Sontou.
Just when Ichiyou finally reunites with Hakugou, a great earthquake strikes the Immortal Realm. In the ensuing chaos, every single Peach of Immortality is found to be stolen. Ichiyou's teacher, Ransaiwa, is taken in for interrogation.
Two mysterious men - one in a gas mask and the other in a rabbit mask - are behind the Peaches of Immortality theft. Ichiyou returns from Japan and reunites with San'u with whom he shares a unique bond.
Hiki, one of the Four Perils, and his brother, Gaishi, battle above. An injured Houryusei tells Ichiyou he can call just one of his servant gods, so he chooses Kaka out of concern for Tenkou.
