The show revolves around the adventures of a 4 Year old girl named Masha and a Bear who always keeps her away from disasters and having fun along with their animal friends. One day Masha stumbles upon a Bears house in a forest, she doesn't hesitate to go in the house, when the Bear comes back to his home. He is shocked to see a young girl messing around in house, the Bear tries to kick her out but Masha doesn't leave. Instead the nice and smart Bear befriends Masha and the two become best friends.

Far away in a little house by the railroad lives a little and a very restless girl called Masha. She loves to play so much that all other animals don't share her enthusiasm and always hide from her. One day she is fed up with it and flees into the forest. There she finds a cozy-looking house that belongs to the Bear, who at this moment just gone fishing. Upon his return, he discovers his lovely house in shambles.

The autumn has arrived. The Bear prepares for his winter bedtime by barricading himself from Masha inside the house. But the little girl manages to find her way indoors and causes yet another mess by awakening a whole swarm of bees. But all her games eventually stop and when the Bear cooks some porridge to feed the child, he discovers her fallen asleep.

The Bear adores New Year's Eve so much that he wakes up just to celebrate this holiday. He cleans his house, decorates the Christmas tree and waits for the Father Frost to come. But Masha arrives instead and the holiday turns into a disaster: the tree burns down, the decorations break and Father Frost gets into a car accident. The forest inhabitants can be left without presents. But Masha and the Bear do their best to fix the situation and they celebrate New Year like never before.

First snow falls and the Bear decides to teach Masha how to distinguish the tracks of different animals. Masha is quite far from being a good student and brings the poor Bear almost to madness. But to his great surprise it turns out that some of her answers were not as absurd as they seemed.

Wolves kidnap Masha in an attempt to obtain ransom from the Bear.

The Bear decides to gather the berries and prepare jam. Masha finds this idea to be literally tasteful - she eats practically everything she can get her hands on. Afterwards she decides to play an astronaut by putting a glass jar on her head. The Bear tries to get her head out of the container and eventually he succeeds only to discover his own paw to be stuck inside the same jar. He spends the remaining day in attempts to free his hand.

The Bear wakes up from his sleep with the arrival of the spring. While running around the forest, he stumbles upon a beautiful female bear. He quickly falls in love and with a bouquet of snowdrops he runs back to invite her for a date. Of course, Masha ruins all of his plans. The Bear does his best to get rid of the girl. But Masha finds her way between the two bears every time. Finally the female friend notices her and demands an explanation. He tries to reason with her but is presented with a choice - it is either the girl or his new female friend. The Bear can't make up his mind at once and his companion leaves with another bear.

The Bear goes fishing. In anticipation he slings his fishing rod but as soon as the first fish swallows the bait, Masha appears and transforms a pleasant fishing trip into a nightmare. The Bear makes a fishing rod for Masha to neutralize her restless behavior and she immediately catches a magical Gold Fish.

A funny interpretation of an old fable about a boy who called for help and shouted "Wolves!" The Bear wants to watch a soccer game but first he needs to get rid of the girl. The Bear sends her foe a walk to the forest and gave her a cell phone in order to be safe. As a result Masha annoys him with her calls for any trivial reasons and when she finds herself in real danger, the Bear doesn't answer the phone .

Masha wants to learn ice skating. But there's nobody around to teach her and the Bear is fast asleep. However this does not concern Masha one little bit. She puts on rolling skates on his feet and rolls him out towards the frozen pond where he eventually wakes up. Now he has no choice but to teach the impatient girl how to ice skate.

With the beginning of school year around the corner, Masha, like all the children wants to go to school and asks the Bear to make her one. Overwhelmed with enthusiasm, the Bear completes the task and the next day Masha sits at a brand new desk and tries to act as a attentive studio but ends up driving the Bear completely mad.

The Bear patiently waits to collect this year's harvest of his prized carrots. And so does the ever hungry hare. The Bear comes up with a seemingly brilliant solution - to make Masha chase the pesky hare away from his garden. But his plan works out in a completely different way.

Masha wants to play hide and seek. But the Bear has other plans in mind. Knowing that it is impossible to go against her wishes, he agrees to play along. Masha «hides», like many little children do, by simply covering her eyes with her hands and the Bear decides to hide himself. He chooses the most exotic places as his hiding spots. Nonetheless Masha finds him every time and demands that he looks for her and once again hides by covering up her eyes.

The Bear wakes up in his chair with an enormous bump on his head and a champion's trophy. But he can't remember how it all happened. Masha and the hare stand beside him with guilty looks on their faces. They tell their interpretations of the story that greatly differ from one another. The Bear has to decide which one is true and which is false.

The Bear's little cousin, Panda, comes over for a visit. Masha immediately wants to pal up and spend time playing games. A competitive spirit awakens in our little heroes as they can't share anything between each other. The Bear quickly figures out that if properly channeled this competitiveness can greatly help him around the house.

Tired from Masha's endless games, the Bear pretends to be sick so the little girl will leave him alone. But the caring girl sets to cure her friend.

The Bear plays checkers. Masha interrupts him asking to feed her. The Bear cooks some porridge for her. But Masha doesn't like it. The Bear goes off in a huff. Masha decides to cook porridge herself. But soon the porridge swells out.

What an obnoxious child Masha is. How can the Bear even stand her. Now Masha as usual finds ways to get her pretty dress dirty and the Bear has to do mounts of laundry and tailor new outfits for her. But fortunately he soon runs out of outfits and Masha is taken home. Maybe now the Bear can finally enjoy peace and quiet. But for how long?

The bear finds a beautiful black piano in the forest. He happily takes his find home, fixes and tunes it and begins to compose. When Masha decides to become a world famous pianist, she asks the Bear to teach her how to play the piano.

An old friend of our Bear - the Circus TIger - decides to pay his old circus friend a visit. The whiskered and stripped cat is utterly bewildered by Masha's behavior and tries everything to get rid of her. Nevertheless his opinion of the little girl changes when he gets lost in the woods and she and the Bear come and save him during the night.

The miracles always happen on New Year's Eve. Masha finds a magical hat that grants gifts to all the forest dwellers. Masha runs happily around the forest in a clown outfit and brings joy to all the critters. The magical hat has a special gift for the Bear who has not been very lucky on such a dreamlike day.

Bright summer day. Bear, while gathering berries, meets female bear in the woods and arranges a date. Returning home, he starts cleaning the house and baking a pie. Once the pie is done, bear decorates it with strawberries, and the notices that Masha has appeared out of nowhere to eat them before starting to hiccup. He tries all manner of remedies from a medical encyclopedia to stop the hiccups. In the end, hiccups spread to everyone: Masha, bear, female bear, and the other woodland creatures.

Masha brings bear an egg, from which a penguin hatches. Bear suddenly has a lot on his hands, and the penguin is trying to peck at him all the time. Masha, on the other hand, loves the little guy, she's teaching him to fly, and to bear's great relief, he does so.

Bear is once more visited by his distant relative - Panda. They start making Chinese dumplings, but then Masha appears, with her own methods of cooking. And thus a simple chore turns into a culinary master class.

There's rain outside, and bear, certain that Masha will stay home in such weather grabs a book. But soon Masha shows up on his doorstep and also wants to read. Bear thinks what to distract her with, and settles on a chest with various magic tricks. This turns out not to be the brightest idea because Masha starts testing all of the objects within on bear, from the wand to the gloves. To finish his book, bear decides to hide in a magic box, but because of Masha this idea has an unusual result.

Bear's idea to hang a new picture frame ends in a huge explosion. This necessitates some repair work. Masha and the other animals help Bear with this difficult job.
