It's still only June, but Ousui Academy is stricken by intense heat. To make matters worse, the air conditioner in the student council room is broken. Then Ashe comes up with an idea to combat the heat.
Miyase Restaurant, Mihiro's family business, plans to add some new items to its menu for the summer so Mihiro decides to ask the other student council members to help come up with ideas.
As the deadline for her manuscript approaches, Kaoruko is struggling with the poses of some of the characters, so she asks Toa and Mihiro to model for her. Toa isn't interested at first, but when Kaoruko offers her favorite food as compensation.
Though Kaoruko has completed her mountain of work, the student council room is now buried under a mountain of trash. Kaoruko was enjoying the feeling of having her manuscript done, but then a small black form scurries in front of her.
Kaoruko gets excited after noticing a strange paper that Toa's brother, Kouki, left on the desk in the student council room, believing it to be the key to writing the next chapter of their manga.
Kaoruko has bags under her eyes due to how she has been burning the midnight oil. Ashe and Mihiro, noticing this, are determined to put Kaoruko to sleep and let her have some rest.
There is a robot in the student council room that can supposedly help with school life. Ashe, excited at seeing a robot for the first time, is keen to examine it but accidentally breaks off the robot's head. Mihiro then lets Ashe be the 'new robot' instead by wrapping her with cardboard and stashing the real robot away.
The student council starts preparing for Kouki's surprise birthday party. They want to thank him for all he has done, while Toa points out that they rely on her brother too much, and lately he spends more time outside than in the student council.
