Seth sets out for the capital but gets intercepted by a Merchant-Baron airship. Seth barely escapes thanks to Grimm, and successfully reaches the capital where he encounters Doc and Melie.
Guided by a reoccurring dream, Seth attempts to sneak into the archives at Caislean Merlin. Here, he learns a dark truth about the origins of the Spectral Nemesis.
Ocoho and Melie are blamed for disobeying orders in the previous battle, but Mordred saves them by telling the queen that it was all Lord Brangoire's mistake. Seth, meanwhile, continues training so that he can learn to control his power.
Seth continues his rigorous training with Myr and Jill so that he can control his powers. Meanwhile, the Knight-Sorcerers are forced to accept the aid of Lord de Guilis during an emergency operation on an approaching Nemesis threat.
Seth is still unable to control his rampaging power. He tries to suppress it, but only ends up closer to being completely engulfed by it. But by thinking about all the bonds and relationships he's forged up to this point, Seth experiences an awakening!
As the town bustles in preparation for the upcoming ordination ceremony, Ocoho leaves quietly, avoiding being seen. Lord Brangoire grows suspicious of her behavior and attacks her. Melie stops him, but is shocked by Ocoho's actions!
Dragunov and Liselotte meet with Doussant of the Merchant Barons, who proposes an alliance that could help the Inquisition that would mean the neutralization of Fantasia. Meanwhile, Ocoho seeks the truth about who is using her curse to make the Spectre Nemesis appear.
The Inquisition invasion begins. Boudica puts up an impressive defense, but her knights are unable to break through the Fantasia Vacuum generated by the Inquisition's new machine.
The Inquisition starts wrecking the knights, largely thanks to their new fantasia nullification device. Seth wins over Piodon, then gets intercepted by Dragunov on his way to join the battle and help Ocoho.
Mordred had infiltrated Caislean Merlin as a child and spent his life there creating chaos in anticipation of this day, all on his father's orders. His father, Baron Doussant, has been working toward the goal of making all infected people into slaves.
Layers of deception are revealed as the battle between the Thaumaturges and the Inquisition rages on. The battleship Uranos descends onto the battlefield, a move that even gives Dragunov pause.
